The Guardian of the Solar System is a Big Finish Productions audiobook based on the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who.
The Companion Chronicles "talking books" are each narrated by one of the Doctor's companions and feature a second, guest-star voice along with music and sound effects.

The First Doctor, Steven and Sara Kingdom find themselves inside a giant clock, the great secret of The Guardians of the Solar System.

- This play is a sequel to Home Truths and The Drowned World.
- The flashback stories occur in the opposite order of the framing stories.
- Sara mentioned seeing an old man caught in the workings of a giant clock in Home Truths.
- Mavic Chen was the Guardian of the Solar System, in league with the Daleks, in The Daleks' Master Plan.
- Mavic Chen mentions Sara's earlier encounter with the Daleks alongside a robot named Mark 7, as heard in the audio lost story The Destroyers.
Critical reception[]
Doctor Who Magazine reviewer Matt Michael said that the audio was "excellent", describing it as having a "dark, haunting atmosphere", and praising its "astonishing" imagery.[1]
