Arrests of reporters[]

In October 2016, writer Justin Brake covered the protests against the Lower Churchill Project in Labrador. Some of the protesters broke the fence blocking the construction site and Brake followed them inside. The Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador ordered the detainment of Brake along with 21 other people following the incident.[1] Brake blamed Nalcor Energy for the court order.
