Written by Ingrid Pitt and her husband Tony Rudlin, the story was originally conceived of as a four-part Fifth Doctor story[1] during the production of Season 21[1] before being quickly revised as a two-part Sixth Doctor tale.[1] A script for the first episode only was commissioned as The Macro Men on 19 January 1984.[2] It was later adapted by Pitt and Rudlin for Big Finish as part of their The Lost Stories series in June 2010.[3]

Continuity[]

  • Peri finally returns to visit her family in Baltimore in The Reaping.
  • The Zero Room was first seen in Castrovalva.
  • The Eleventh Doctor returns to the USS Eldridge three centuries into the future in Shadows of the Vashta Nerada.

Notes[]

  • Author Ingrid Pitt was also an actress in the classic series stories The Time Monster and Warriors of the Deep. She and her husband Tony Rudlin were asked to write this story while she was working on Warriors of the Deep. The script was originally titled The Macro Men. Pitt died five months after the release of this audio.
