The Next Titan

The Next Titan is a Nigerian entrepreneurial reality show.[1][2] The first season premiered in 2013.[3] Usually, 16 contestants are picked after regional auditions to undergo business tasks as teams and individuals together for 10 weeks. Least performing teams and individuals are open for elimination.[4] The cash price has increased from 5 million Naira to a space of 15million naira to its current season.[5][6][7] Season 8 of The Next Titan tagged ‘The Uncaged’ scouted for tenacious entrepreneurs, the bravehearts, and the masterminds with unbeatable business ideas and the skills, the drive, and the will to transcend all barriers and limitations.[8][9][10] The new season of the 10-week business reality show is a special and irresistible edition coming with a bang, as the Winner will walk away with a Cash Prize of N15 Million Naira, while the Top 1000 Contestants from Audition Stages will qualify for a funding of up to N3million Naira each courtesy, NYIF. Registrations commenced as auditions were held in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, Ibadan, Enugu and Online for entrepreneurs between the ages of 21 to 40 years old. The Season 8 is a special edition and is in partnership with Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports development, and sponsored by Headline Sponsor, Heritage Bank Plc[11]

The Process[]

The Next Titan stages begins with its registration of more than twenty thousand (20,000) entrepreneurs from all over Nigeria.[11]

The Auditions are held in six cities which are Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Kano, Ibadan and Lagos. 50 entrepreneurs are then selected to move to the next stage which is Boot camp.[28] They are trained physically and mentally to prepare for what will be the next chapter of entrepreneurship. They perform different tasks enlighten them about business strategies, plan and mostly they have a lot of fun.[29]

The Premiere of The Next Titan[]

This event is held to select the Top 18 contestants that will move into the Titan house. Special Guests and appearances from different brands and sectors gather here to encourage all entrepreneurs and wish them the best. THE NEXT TITAN Season 8 premiered on DStv Africa Magic, Wazobia Max Tv, and Premium Box which aired for 10 weeks.[30]

The Titan House[]

After moving into the house, contestants are allowed to perform tasks from sponsors, visits, play games, have fun and overall learn in the process. They also battle out their tasks in the boardroom where they will be scrutinized by the Judges [31][32] Evictions, crossfires and wins on this Business Reality show goes on for 10 weeks till the Top 5 are selected to defend their businesses at the Grand Finale.

The Grand Finale[]

This final stage of the show is held at a Prestigious Hotel in Nigeria, where Minster Youth and Sports Development was present with the Sponsors and Partners of the show, the Judges, the Top 18 contestants, and Previous winners/contestants. Out of the top 18 contestants of The Next Titan Nigeria Season 8 tagged ‘The Uncaged’ five made it to the Grand finale of which he or she will be the winner of the Grand Prize of 15million Naira.[33][34]
