Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP (TDS) is a Manitoba, Canada-based law firm with its head office in Winnipeg. The firm has two full-time regional office in Brandon and Portage la Prairie and seven part-time satellite offices in Boissevain, Gladstone, MacGregor, Morden, Neepawa, Steinbach and Winkler.

On May 27, 2010 Thompson Dorfman Sweatman announced a merger with the firm Perlov Stewart LLP. The merger became effective June 1, 2010. Both firms continued under the name Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP.[1]

On January 14, 2013 the firm announced a merger with the firm Christianson Law of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.[2]

On January 7, 2014 the firm announced another merger with the firm Roy Johnston & Co. of Brandon, Manitoba.[3]

History[]

Thompson Dorfman Sweatman was formed in 1887 in Winnipeg and has roughly 88 active lawyers. TDS has lawyers who provide services to its clients in both Official Languages of Canada and also in Italian, and Portuguese.

Affiliated companies[]

On May 27, 2009 Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP announced the launch of Acumen Corporate Development Inc., an affiliate of Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP.[4] Acumen focuses on providing North American companies with a structured, comprehensive approach to the planning and execution of growth by acquisition, financing and other strategic opportunities.
