"Time Is Ticking Out" is a song recorded by Irish band the Cranberries. It was the second single from their fifth studio album, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee, released in 2001. Dolores O'Riordan wrote the song after she had seen the children of Chernobyl born with many illnesses.[1] The Cranberries donated all the proceeds of the single to the Chernobyl Children’s Project charity.[1] A promotional video, directed by Maurice Linnane,[2] features the band members as modern-life The Wizard of Oz characters.
