Toki Tamaru is a Japanese kickboxer. He is the former RISE Super Flyweight champion.
As of October 2020, he was the #7 ranked Flyweight in the world by Combat Press.[2] He first entered the rankings in September 2020.[3]
Kickboxing career[]
He made his RISE debut against Shota Toyama. Toki defeated Toyama by decision.[4] Tamaru had his second fight with RISE during RISE 126, when he fought KING Takeshi. Tamaru beat him by decision.[5] He fought Yuya Hayashi during RISE 127. Tamaru won the fight by decision.[6]
Toki fought Azusa Kaneko for the RISE -53kg title during RISE 128. He Tamaru won the fight by unanimous decision.[7]
After winning the title, he faced Kazuki in a non title bout, at RISE 130. Tamaru won the fight KO, after dropping Kazuki with a left straight less than two minutes into the fight.[8]
He made his first title defense against Jin Mandokoro during RISE 132.[9] Tamaru won the fight by unanimous decision.[10][11]
Following his title defense, he faced Masahiko Suzuki.[12] Tamaru's ten fight winning streak came to an end, as Suzuki won an extra round decision.[13]
In July 2020, he was scheduled to fight Masaking.[14] Tamaru won the fight by unanimous decision.
Tamaru was scheduled to make his second title defense against Kazuki Osaki at RISE 142. Osaki won the fight by unanimous decision.[15]
Tamaru was scheduled to fight Jin Mandokoro in the quarterfinals of the 2021 RISE Dead or Alive 53kg Tournament.[16] He lost the fight by unanimous decision.[17]
