Thomas Segura Jr. is an American stand-up comedian, writer, actor, and podcaster. Segura co-hosts the Your Mom's House podcast with his wife, fellow comedian Christina Pazsitzky, and also co-hosts the 2 Bears, 1 Cave podcast with comedian and actor Bert Kreischer.

Early life

Segura was born on April 16, 1979 to Charo, a Peruvian mother and Thomas Segura Sr., an American father of Spanish, Cajun, and French-Canadian ancestry. He has two sisters.[1] When he was 18, Segura overdosed on GHB and fell into a short coma.[2]

Career

Segura began stand-up comedy shortly after graduating from Lenoir-Rhyne University. On the Wednesday September 9, 2020 Episode 568 of Your Mom's House Podcast with guest Kevin Nealon, Tom mentions he was doing comedy in the evenings for the first few years while holding down other daytime jobs. Segura has described interning at Kopelson Entertainment and then having his first paid job in the industry as a logger, producing transcripts of reality shows such as Extreme Makeover and My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss.[3]

Segura has performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival,[4] The Comedy Festival, the Global Comedy Festival in Vancouver, and Just For Laughs Comedy Festival.[5] Segura was also a San Francisco regional finalist on Last Comic Standing 2. In 2018, Tom and his wife, Christina Pazsitzky, landed a TV deal with CBS, who gave a pilot production commitment for their show "The Little Things".[6] Tom's 4th special for Netflix, Ball Hog, premiered on March 24, 2020 and a Spanish language special was planned for the fall of 2020, before the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic was experienced.[7]

On June 11, 2019, Segura, along with fellow comedian and actor Bert Kreischer, debuted the comedic podcast 2 Bears, 1 Cave.

Personal life

Segura is from Cincinnati, Ohio,[10] and has lived across the US in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Vero Beach, Florida.[11] He graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina.[12]

He lives in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood of Los Angeles, California with his wife Christina Pazsitzky, and their two children.[13][14][15] On August 21 the LA Times reported NFL linebacker Cassius Marsh purchased Tom and Christina's old Woodland Hills home.[16]

Tom and Christina met when he was 23 and she was 26, at the Cat Club on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles California.[3]
