Toys "R" Us Canada Ltd., also known in Canada as Toys "R" Us, is a Canadian chain of toy stores owned by billionaire businessman Doug Putman (who also owns FYE). The Canadian expansion of the American Toys "R" Us began in 1984.[1] The parent company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September 2017, closing all U.S. locations the following March.[2]

The Canadian subsidiary and related trademarks were sold off to Fairfax Financial in June 2018.[3] Currently, Toys "R" Us Canada comprises 81 stores,[1] which continue to operate under the Toys "R" Us name. The company is headquartered in Concord (Vaughan), Ontario.[4]

In 2021, FYE and Sunrise Records (also known as HMV) owner Doug Putman, through his Putman Investments, announced he would buy Toys "R" Us Canada from Fairfax Financial.[5]

Toys "R" Us Canada is a participant in the voluntary Scanner Price Accuracy Code managed by the Retail Council of Canada.[6]
