TRADER Corporation is a classified advertising company based in Toronto, Canada. The company specializes in second-hand cars and is owned by Thoma Bravo.

History[]

Trader Corporation was formed in June 2006 with the integration of Classified Media (Canada) Holdings Inc. (more commonly known as Trader Canada) and Trader Media Corp. The two companies were acquired by Yellow Pages Income Fund from Trader Classified Media that same year. Yellow Pages purchased Classified Media (Canada) Holdings Inc. for $760 million and Trader Media Corp. for $436 million.[3]

In March 2011, Yellow Pages sold Trader Corp. to Apax Partners for $745 million.[4][5]

In June 2012, Trader Corp. stopped publishing the Auto Trader magazine and several of it other magazines and pushed a move towards online car advertising.[6]

In 2016, Apax sold Trader Corp. to Thoma Bravo for C$ 1.57 billion (US$ 1.22 billion).[7]

autoTRADER.ca (French: autoHEBDO.net) is an online automotive classifieds advertising website servicing Canada. It is the main consumer product of the Trader Corporation. An app with the same name is available on Google Play and the AppStore.
