Transfusion is a monthly peer-reviewed transfusion medicine journal published by Wiley on behalf of the Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies (formerly the American Association of Blood Banks). According to the Journal Citation Reports, it had a 2020 impact factor of 3.157, ranking it 43rd out of 76 journals in the hematology category.[1][2] Transfusion was established in 1960 with Tibor J. Greenwalt as its founding editor.[3][4] As of 2021, the editor-in-chief is Richard Kaufman.[5]

The journal is indexed for Scopus,[6] MEDLINE/Index Medicus,[7] EMBASE, CINAHL, BIOSIS, CAB Abstracts,[8] Current Contents Clinical Medicine and Life Sciences, Biological Abstracts, and Science Citation Index Expanded.[9]
