True Things is a 2021 psychological drama film directed by Harry Wootliff, from a screenplay by Wootliff and Molly Davies. It stars Ruth Wilson, Tom Burke, and Hayley Squires.

It had its world premiere at the 2021 Venice International Film Festival on 4 September 2021.

In May 2019, it was announced Ruth Wilson had joined the cast of the film, with Harry Wootliff directing from a screenplay she wrote, based on the novel True Things About Me by Deborah Kay Davies. Ruth Wilson and Jude Law produced the film, alongside The Bureau, BBC Films and the BFI.[2] In October 2020, it was announced Tom Burke had joined the cast of the film.[3]

Principal photography concluded by November 2020.[4]

Release[]

The film had its world premiere at the 2021 Venice International Film Festival on 4 September 2021.[5] It also screened at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2021.[6][7] In October 2021, Samuel Goldwyn Films acquired North American distribution rights to the film.[8]
