Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy trimetrogon photography, 1958–60. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Allen D. Tusing, meteorologist at Byrd Station, 1959.
