Tyler Nelson is a dancer best known for his role on the musical reality show, Taking the Stage which first aired on MTV on March 19th, 2009. The show was produced by Nick Lachey, a SCPA alumni and former member of the 2000 musical group, 98 Degrees. Viewers were able to follow Nelson’s life as a junior and senior at SCPA High School along with fellow classmate and on and off-again girlfriend Jasmine White-Killins. Although, the two had strong chemistry at the onset of the show, feelings eventually fizzled when he began a close relationship with another classmate Mia Carruthers. At one point, Nelson even went on to form his own dance crew “Black Rain” winning second place at the school dance competition. He has appeared in a number of films since the show ended and still continues to pursue other ventures in film, music and dance.
