Tyrol Basin is a ski and snowboard area located in the town of Vermont, Dane County, near Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. It has runs at beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert level. Tyrol Basin has 16 runs, of average size for Midwest hills. The ski area attracts many skiers and snowboarders from nearby Madison, Wisconsin.[1][2]

At the base of the hill near the first chairlift, Tyrol has a small gift shop, rental building, and food lodge.

Skiing[]

Tyrol Basin has beginner green runs through a double black diamond expert run. The hill offers a ski school for both private and group lessons. Tyrol also has NASTAR racing almost every weekend.

Snowboarding[]

Tyrol Basin has three terrain parks including a gentle park with smaller features that attracts beginner riders. They host the United States Ski and Snowboard Association which holds several skiing and snowboarding competitions on weekends.
