In implementation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Supreme President of the University City of Sharjah, the nucleus of  the University City (المدينة الجامعية بالشارقة) in 1998 to become the largest in the world today. The University City presents its integrated services to the main and affiliated entities, to provide a more sustainable lifestyle for all members of society.

The University City of Sharjah has always been and is still a journey of building and developing minds of the generations, and highlight the path for humanity to continue the march of science and enlightenment, and building capabilities and cadres that can leave a clear imprint in various sciences and lead the mechanism of  positive change in all aspects of life.

The University City of Sharjah extends over a vast area around 15 square kilometers, to become a city within a city.

Since it was a long journey of work standing behind this achievement, the University City of Sharjah has gained its current space after efforts that reflect the extent of the determination to develop and expand it since its establishment.

In record time, the University City of Sharjah stands high comprehending a variety of academic, scientific, cultural, and educational institutions, which have became major landmarks in the emirate with a set of memorials to draw a harmonious painting of roads, corridors and picturesque landscapes that highlight the civilized and scientific image of Sharjah, and reflect the vision and directions of its wise leadership towards harnessing the capabilities and resource to provides a prosperous and advanced scientific environment.

The University City of Sharjah has a unique assortment in serving all aspects of the academic educational system and it provides an integrated model for a globally enriching academic education.

Safety and Security[]

Out of its full keenness to provide an environment that would promote the community, the University City gives the utmost importance to security and safety of its community members, in coordination with both its partners and patrons. This would make it a safe educational oasis for all its residents to practice all educational activities in addition to sports and entertainments.

The University City employs all its capabilities to provide security and safety services by providing ambulance services that are available around the clock ensuring it applies the best medical practices following the highest standards. The ambulance units in the University City have provided fully qualified medical cadres to deal with various medical crises, accidents and emergencies. In addition, the University City provides the internal accident planning service and a periodic inspection service.[2]

Cleanliness and Maintenance[]

The University City represents a civilized frontage for Sharjah as a prestigious cultural city that generations will be proud of. In order to contribute to the development of its scientific and cognitive performance, the University City also provides a unique model in the cleanliness and maintenance of all its buildings, landmarks, roads and picturesque green landscapes, an outlook expected and is regularly seen through horizontal expansion every year.

Cleanliness is one of the most important priorities of the University City to provide a healthy work and education environment to maintain its honorable image. Therefore, the University City provides a range of high-quality cleaning and maintenance services, inside the campus and its main streets, as well as the lanes connecting the buildings of the premises. It also carries out cleaning and maintenance works for its main affiliates.[3]

The University City crowns its warm landmarks and buildings of unique Islamic architecture with the various stunning landscapes, which give the impact of joy and optimism to its visitors. In this context, The University City does not only provide a prestigious education, but also contributes to relieving minds and souls with a number of green spaces, lush gardens and colorful plants that have become a destination for many visitors.

The moment we enter the University City, your attention will be grasped by the beautiful details furnishing the landscape, with various trees such as fruitful trees, flowering trees and others used for shading.[4]

Transportation[]

The University City owns an integrated transportation system consisting of advanced buses whose first goal is to provide a modern, comfortable and sustainable means of transportation in order to transport students from outside the University City to inside it and vice versa, where the paved roads of the University City prepared with high-efficiency assembly and waiting points would help to meet the growing demand of thousands of students for transportation.[5]
