Urbana is an ultra-luxury residential project in Indian metropolis of Kolkata (South). It is located in Anandapur.

Details[]

Urbana is the tallest residential complex ever built in Kolkata and the entire Eastern India. It will have five towers of 45 storeys and two towers of 40 storeys. The 46 storey towers will rise up to a height of 321 metres (1,053 ft) making them the tallest residential buildings in the city. In October 2013, one of the two 40 storied towers topped out at 309 metres (1,014 ft) height making it the tallest building in the city. Fifty bungalows are also the part of this project. Altogether when the project is completed, Urbana will house more than 8,000 people. The entire project will be spread on 66-acre (270,000 m2) with 33-acre (130,000 m2) of greenery.

Eco-friendliness will be a key feature of the complex, making it the city's first green residential area. With its own sewage pumping station and sewage treatment plant, waste water from all the buildings will be treated and recycled for gardening and washing purposes. Rainwater harvesting will be a salient feature of the complex. A car park wide enough for 5,000 cars and a commercial zone will be the other features. Besides, a centralised refuse container will collect and dispose of the 4,652 kg waste generated by residents, who are expected to consume 12.53 lakh litre of water every day.

A total of 2000 crore rupees is being spent for constructing this huge project.

2019: Currently Urbana has seven towers completed.
