Václav Klaus' Institute

Václav Klaus' Institute (Czech: Institut Václava Klause) is a Think tank based in the Czech Republic. It was established by Václav Klaus when his term as President of the Czech Republic ended.[1] It is inspired by libraries of former American presidents. Other people involved with the institute include Jiří Weigl and Klaus' sons.[2] Institute was originally supposed to be Václav Klaus' Library.[3] It is financially supported by Petr Kellner.

Institute is close to many prominent politicians of Civic Democratic Party such as Jan Skopeček or Václav Klaus Jr. Institute itself critical to the current Civic Democratic leader Petr Fiala.[4]

Foundation[]

Institute was founded in March 2012. It was one-year prior end of second Klaus' term as president. Jiří Weigl said that the Institute was founded so Klaus can join it when it is fully functioning.[2]
