Varian Carty (born 3 June 2003) is an Anguillan footballer who plays for the Huntingdon Hawks and the Anguilla national team.
Youth career[]
As a youth Carty played for Vestavia Hills Soccer Club in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, United States.[1] He attended Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham. Throughout his time with the school team, he made thirty four appearances, tallying nine goals and seventeen assists.[2]
College career[]
In May 2021 Carty committed to play college soccer for the Hawks of Huntingdon College.[3] During his first season with the team, he made seventeen appearances.[4]
International career[]
Carty made two appearances for Anguilla in 2019 CONCACAF U-17 Championship qualifying.[5] He made three more appearances for the country during 2020 CONCACAF U-20 Championship qualifying.[6]
In January 2022 Anguilla held a training camp and friendlies at the Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre in Bisham, England.[7] In the team's opening match, Carty started against Windsor F.C. of the Combined Counties Football League.[8] The match ended as a 0–5 defeat for Anguilla.[9] Two days later, 27 January 2022, Carty made his senior international debut in Anguilla's 2–1 friendly victory over the British Virgin Islands.[10]
