Verapaz, Guatemala
Verapaz or Vera Paz was a historical region in the Spanish colonial Captaincy General of Guatemala.
Present day[]
The Verapaz region is currently divided into two Departments of Guatemala:
- Alta Verapaz Department — capital city, Cobán.
- Baja Verapaz Department — capital city, Salamá.
