Videlina Stefanova Mircheva (Bulgarian: Виделина Стефанова Мирчева) (born March 18, 1978) is a Bulgarian singer-songwriter.[1]

Early life[]

Videlina Mircheva was born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. At the age of 6 she started taking piano and ballet lessons and thanks to her grandmother she entered the world of music and arts. In the National School of Music and Dances (NUMTI) Dobrin Petkov, Plovdiv she continued studying classical piano, musical theory, harmony, and solfeggio. Gradually she became involved in singing and started developing her vocal skills, influenced by the music, lyrics and philosophy of Erykah Badu. Soon after that Videlina made her first attempts at songwriting – "Believe in me" and "Pink World", which she recorded in a studio but never released.[1]

After graduating from National School of Music and Dances Dobrin Petkov, Mircheva studied at the Academy of Music, Dance and Visual Arts (AMTII), Plovdiv. She took private lessons in classical singing for one year. She graduated from the Academy in 2001 with a degree in music pedagogy and classical piano. In 2009, she graduated with an MA in Art Management.[1]

The video premiere was on November 9, 2004 at the club Marmalad.[4]

In 2008 at The King's Stables, Plovdiv, Free Style presented their second video, "Beautiful Things".[5] The director, screenwriter and stylist was Rushi Vidinliev,[6] a well-known Bulgarian singer and songwriter. The song was remixed by Mr. Moon.[7]

Music Station Project at Petnoto, 2012

In 2010 Videlina left Free Style and became a soloist of Big Band Plovdiv. In 2010 Videlina began working with DJ Wonder, combining house music and live vocals. The project was first performed at DJ Wonder's house party Wonder's Lab at club Plazma, Plovdiv, followed by a concert at Sofia Live Club and Planet Club de Luxe.[14] In 2013 they released their first single, "This Summer".[15]

She collaborated with Bulgarian jazz singer Vassil Petrov, who invited her to take part in his new project The Pop Concert, along with well-known Bulgarian musicians Angel Zaberski-son (pianist, composer), Stoyan Yankulov-Stundzhy (drums, percussions), Milen Kukosharov (piano, keyboards), Miroslav Ivanov (guitar), and Boris Taslev (bass). The project presented familiar songs such as "Hello" (Lionel Richie), "If Tomorrow Never Comes" (Barry Manilow), "Boat on the River" (Styx), "Fragile" (Sting), and "Feelings", in modern arrangements. The Pop Concert was first introduced with great success at the Annual Festival of Arts Apolonia,[16][17] in Sozopol 2011.

At the end of 2011 Videlina started a project named Music Station. The idea that brought the musicians together was to offer the public a quality selection of jazz, soul and funk music. The project was performed first on Christmas night at Stage 51, followed by a concert at club Petnoto.[18]

Vocal coaching[]

She began teaching pop, rock and jazz singing in 2007. Her main goals are to be innovative, to use modern methods, to encourage and guide her students to develop their skills. To achieve that, she looked for effective, interesting and "working" methods of vocal coaching. She relies on the background and experience of some well-known vocal coaches and their vocal training programs: Robert Lunte's – "The Four Pillars of Singing", , creator of ; and Brett Manning – "Singing Success".[citation needed]
