WMLZ-LP (107.9) is a low-power High School radio station broadcasting an adult hits format. (1955 to 2000) The station is licensed to Bedford Public Schools in Temperance, Michigan. It first began broadcasting in 2002 under the name of Blend 107.9, where it played a mix of 1980s music and current hits. The format was then changed in 2006 to incorporate a wide time range of Classic Rock, and the station changed its name to "Z108, Bedford's Home of Classic Rock and Sports". In February 2018 WMLZ-LP received an upgrade for their broadcasting software, added more music and shifted their playlist to more adult contemporary, and is now branded as "107.9 Memories" Some artists that can be heard on the station include Green Day, Beatles, Prince, Elvis, Byrd's, Monkees and Maroon 5. The station also broadcasts Bedford High School's sports and special school activities. WMLZ-LP has since added Podcasting to the family of Bedford High School Broadcasting. This gives the listener even more of a chance to hear the students, after the mics are off at WMLZ. BEDFORD PODCAST is available on Iheart Media and Soundcloud.
