WPNR-FM (90.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a modern college variety music format, as well as Utica College athletics. "Pioneer Radio" is an educational broadcaster operated by matriculated students of the college under the advisement of a Utica College faculty member and designated chief operator. The station is licensed to Utica, New York, United States, and the station serves the Mohawk Valley area. WPNR-FM has been a licensed student broadcaster since October 22, 1977. Former iterations of Utica College radio include the call letters WRUC-FM, WRNS-FM, WEDJ-FM, the earliest of which date back to the early 1960s. The station is owned by Utica College and powered by Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, Utica College, and Burrstone Energy Center's Co-Generation Plant.
