The WZ-9 (WoZhou-9 (涡轴-9)) is a turboshaft engine developed in the People's Republic of China for use in the CAIC Z-10 attack helicopter.

Design and development[]

Design of the new engine, entrusted to the 602nd Research Institute, began in the early 2000s with flight ready engines powering the prototypes of the Z-10 attack helicopter.
