The station broadcasts a soft adult contemporary music format. The station is currently owned by Northern Star Broadcasting, with a sale pending to Sovereign Communications.

In July 2020, WZNL changed their format from hot adult contemporary to soft adult contemporary, branded as "The Breeze".[1]
