Phan Sakunni (Thai: พาน สกุลณี), best known by the stage name Waiphot Phetsuphan (Thai: ไวพจน์ เพชรสุพรรณ), is a luk thung and (Thai: เพลงแหล่)[1] singer and National Artist of Thailand[2][3] in 1997. He is part of the reputation of "Queen of Luk thung", Pumpuang Duangjan,[4] which he songwritted song to Pumpuang include "Keaw Roe Phee" (แก้วรอพี่) and "Countryside Singer" (นักร้องบ้านนอก/Nak Rong Baan Nork).
He was born on March 7, 1942, in Suphan Buri Province.[5] He is of Laotian descent. He became a singer in 1962.[6]
His popular songs include "Taeng Thao Tai" (แตงเถาตาย), "Fang Khao Thit Kaeo" (ฟังข่าวทิดแก้ว), "Baeng Sombat" (แบ่งสมบัติ), etc.
