Walthamstow Bus Station serves the Walthamstow area of Waltham Forest, London, England. The station is owned and maintained by Transport for London. The station can be accessed from both Selborne Road and High Street as well as Walthamstow Central tube station.

History[]

The bus station opened in June 2005 replacing the previous bus station on this site. Designed by RPS Group. It cost £6 million and has improved interchange access with both the tube and rail stations at Walthamstow Central. According to Walthamstow borough the bus station is the third-busiest in the capital and it is open 24 hours.[1]

Future[]

In April 2011, it was proposed by consultants, as part of masterplanning for Walthamstow town centre, that the bus station be demolished,[2] and the area converted into a park.
