William Matthew Beal (17 March 1877 – 3 August 1964) was a New Zealand cricketer who played for Otago. He was born in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, and died in Dunedin.[1]

Beal made a single first-class appearance for the side, during the 1909–10 season, against Auckland. From the tailend, he scored 1 not out in the first innings in which he batted, and a duck in the second, as Otago lost the match by an innings margin.[1][2]

Beal later stood as umpire in five first-class matches, including the second international match in 1927/28 between the touring Australian team and New Zealand at Carisbrook in Dunedin.[3][4] His brother, Carl, played for Otago and Canterbury.[5]
