Women Talking is an upcoming American drama film written and directed by Sarah Polley, based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Miriam Toews.

Premise[]

One evening, eight Mennonite women climb into a hay loft to conduct a secret meeting. For the past two years, each of these women, and more than a hundred other girls in their colony, has been repeatedly violated in the night by demons coming to punish them for their sins.

In December 2020, it was reported that Frances McDormand would star in the film, to be directed by Sarah Polley.[1] In June 2021, Ben Whishaw, Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley, Judith Ivey, Sheila McCarthy and Michelle McLeod joined the cast of the film.[2]

Principal photography took place from July 19 to September 10, 2021, in Toronto.[3][4][5]
