Location

Woodlands Bus Interchange (formerly Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange) is a bus interchange in Singapore. Located at Woodlands, the interchange is linked to Woodlands MRT Station and adjacent to Causeway Point shopping mall. The interchange is part of the Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub (WITH), which opened on 13 June 2021.

Before then, the original Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange was opened in 1996 as part of the Woodlands extension of the North South MRT line, and was the first underground bus interchange in Singapore.[4] On 12 March 2016, the interchange was relocated to a temporary site located adjacent to Woodlands MRT Station in order to facilitate the upgrade of the interchange to an air-conditioned interchange as part of Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub.

Under the Sembawang – Yishun bus package, services 169, 856, 858, 963/e/R, 966, 969, as well as 965 from the temporary interchange were taken over by Tower Transit in September 2021.[5][6]

Redevelopment[]

The Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange in June 2021

Contract PT247 – Upgrading of Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange was awarded to CCECC Singapore Pte Ltd to carry out alteration works to upgrade the Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange to an air-conditioned one and constructing a link to the new Thomson–East Coast line (TEL).[7][8]

A temporary bus interchange was constructed next to Woodlands MRT station and operations of all of the bus services serving Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange were shifted to the Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange (TBI) on 12 March 2016.[9]

The upgraded Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange renamed as Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub reopened on 13 June 2021.[10][11] However, bus services 925/925M, 950, 961/961M and 965 would continue to operate from the temporary interchange.[10][11]
