Woosung is an unincorporated community in Ogle County, Illinois, U.S., and is located in the far southwestern part of the county, northwest of Dixon.
Woosung is a small, charming community with a single post office, small park, and a cement plant. If you ever visit, you will see it truly is a jewel of the local community. The community is full of animal lovers, it's common to see someone walking their dog or running around town. Internet is limited in Woosung, DC Computers and Centurylink are the only options. Although the internet is limited you can always count on the community to cheer you up. Stop out on a Saturday or Sunday morning to view and smell the community mowing their yards. Woosung is a thriving community and has lots of potential. Local famous people Chris and Linnea who own the post office plan to eventually become the mayors of Woosung. Although they are young, they have a good chance of becoming the first mayors of Woosung.
Woosung was named by a railroad official who had once visited Wusong, China during his former career as a sea captain.[1]
