Yakama Manty Jones (née Mara) is a Sierra Leonean economist, lecturer, and entrepreneur, with a PhD in Finance and Economics.[1] She is the Director of Research and Delivery at the Sierra Leone Ministry of Finance.[2] In 2021, she was selected as an Amujae leader by the EJS Center.[3] Jones has authored and co-authored multiple scholarly articles[4] and spoken at various organisations, such as TEDxYouth,[5] Africa Oxford Initiative,[6] and the World Bank.[7]

Jones is the founder of the Yak Jones Foundation, a non-profit organisation with the mission "to bring back the reading culture to Sierra Leone."[8] Together, she and her husband founded the Peninsular Innovation Group (PI Group),[3] an incorporated firm consisting of: Peninsular Innovative Services, Peninsular Manufacturing, Trans Sahara Shipping, and Peninsular Fish Farming.[9]
