Yuriy Valentynovych Batyushyn (Ukrainian: Юрій Валентинович Батюшин; born 7 December 1992) is a professional Ukrainian football midfielder who plays for Metalist 1925 Kharkiv in the Ukrainian Premier League.[1]

Career[]

Stal Alchevsk[]

Yuriy Batyushyn was born on 7 December 1992 in Alchevsk. He is a youth product of the local club Stal Alchevsk, where he played for the youth squads from 1999 to 2009. His first coaches were Mykola Kotsyubynskyi and Vyacheslav Frantsev. He played 78 matches and scored 9 goals in the Ukrainian Youth League for Stal. From 2008 to 2011 he played for Stal-2 Alchevsk in the Luhansk Oblast Championship. He made his debut for the senior squad of the club on 24 July 2011 in the winning match against Odessa, coming on the field in the 90th minute substituting Anton Postupalenko. He scored his first goal for Stal on 29 October 2011 in the winning match against Lviv. In the 2014–15 season he suffered a serious injury.[2] During his stay in the Alchevsk team in the Ukrainian First League he played 84 matches and scored 13 goals. He played 4 matches in the Ukrainian Cup.

Mykolaiv[]

At the end of April 2015, he joined Mykolaiv.[3][4] He made his debut for Mykolaiv on 25 April 2015 in a drawing home match of the matchday 23 of the Ukrainian First League against Sumy. Yuriy was present in the starting lineup, and in the 29th minute he was replaced by Andriy Burdiyan.[5] The debut goal came on 23 May 2015 on the 90th minute of the losing home match of the matchday 28 of the Ukrainian First League against Poltava. Batyushyn came on in the 75th minute, replacing Valeriy Rohozynskyi. On 10 November 2015, he was present in the team of the matchday 16 of the Ukrainian First League according to the online edition UA-Football as a central midfielder.[6] In June 2016, Illichivets Mariupol and Helios Kharkiv showed interest in the player, but he eventually remained in Mykolaiv.[7]

At the end of the first half of the 2020–21 season, he was named as the best central midfielder of the Ukrainian First League according to the online edition SportArena.[8][9]

Metalist 1925 Kharkiv[]

On 25 December 2020 he became a player of Metalist 1925 Kharkiv.[9]
