Zdzisław Aleksander Raczyński (born October 18, 1959 in Werpol)[1] is a Polish diplomat, journalist and novelist, currently serving as officer in Polish MFA.

Life[]

Zdzisław Raczyński was born on 18 October 1959, raised in Siemiatycze.[1] He was educated at University of Warsaw, Faculty of Political Science, he graduated from Arab studies at Moscow State Institute of International Relations. From 1990 to 1996 Raczyński was Polish Press Agency foreign correspondent in Moscow. From 1997 to 2000 he held post of Advisor of Head of National Security Bureau. Raczyński joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in May 2001. He was in positions of director of Eastern Policy Department, later deputy director of Europe Department.[2] From 2004 to 2007 he was the Polish ambassador to Tunisia.[3] From 2010 to 2014 the ambassador to Armenia.[4] Between October 2016 and 2021 he was also leader of the Solidarity Polish trade union unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.[5]

As journalist and novelist Raczynski published several articles on Russia policy issues and on Arab world. In 2018, he published the novel Harib about the Libyan Revolution (ISBN 978-83-283-3995-8).
