Zeb Bangash is the first Pakistani artist to serve as music director of an award-winning Bollywood film;[10] she made her debut with, “Lipstick under my Burkha," a Prakash Jha production whose music was snapped up by music marketing giant T-Series in India. The film won several awards, including FilmDe Femmes Festival, France 2017, Glasgow Film Festival 2017, London Asian Film Awards 2017, Minneapolis St. Paul International Festival 2017, Mumbai Film Festival 2016, Screen Awards, India 2018 and Tokyo International Film Festival 2017.

Their first viral single, Farz Karo, written by the poet, Ibn-e-Insha, was released at the beginning of 2018, and their forthcoming songs are slated for release.

Since the past few years, Bangash has been under the tutelage of Ustaad Naseeruddin Saami, a master of the centuries-old Dehli Gharana. She is currently working on a documentary recording of Ustaad Saami with GRAMMY-winning producer Ian Brennan, to explore his ancestral legacy of Khayal and Qawwali, and its sufic roots and lineage from the times of Hazrat Amir Khusro.
