Zydus Wellness (previously Carnation Nutra-Analogue Foods) is an Indian consumer goods company headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.The name was changed to ‘Zydus Wellness Limited’ with effect from 5th January, 2009.[6] It produces nutrition and skincare products, and is a subsidiary of the pharmaceutical company Cadila Healthcare. It is into the business of manufacturing, buying and selling of all types of health food products, low fat, low cholesterol including table margarine, cheese, butter and substitute products.[7] Its marquee brands include Glucon-D, Sugar-free, Ever Yuth Scrub, Peel-off face mask, Complan(India) and Nycil, each one of which leads the respective product categories as in March 2021.[8] The company operates three manufacturing plants, one in Gujarat and 2 in Sikkim.[9]

Carnation Nutra-Analogue Foods was founded in 1994 as a producer of dairy substitutes. Over the next decade, its margarine product Nutralite became the largest selling margarine brand in India.[10]

In 2006, Zydus Cadila acquired a 14.96% stake in the company.[10] Cadila's stake in the company increased to over 70% in 2008, after the merger of Cadila's consumer goods business, which included sugar substitute brand Sugar Free and EverYuth range of skincare products, into Carnation.[11] The merged entity was then named as Zydus Wellness Limited.[12]

In 2009, the company began manufacturing men's grooming and skincare products.[12][13] In 2011, Zydus Wellness launched its milk additive brand Actilife.[14]

In 2017, Zydus Wellness developed stevia products as part of its sugar substitute business.[15] In 2018, it launched its second sugar substitute brand called Sugarlite.[16]

In January 2019, Zydus Wellness acquired a part of Heinz India's business for 4,595 crore (US$610 million), which included the health drink brand Complan, glucose-based energy drink additive Glucon D, talcum powder brand Nycil and Sampriti Ghee. It also took over Heinz India's manufacturing facilities in Aligarh and Sitarganj.[17][18][19]

In 2020, Zydus Wellness began to sell hand sanitisers[20] and chocolate products.[21][22]
