Bill Tilden defeated Frank Hunter 3–6, 6–3, 4–6, 6–2, 6–4 in the final to win the men's singles tennis title at the 1929 U.S. National Championships.[2] It was Tilden's seventh and final U.S. Championship title and his ninth Grand Slam title overall.
