The 1946 Montana State Bobcats football team was an American football team that represented Montana State College (now known as Montana State University) in the Rocky Mountain Conference (RMC) during the 1946 college football season. In its first season under head coach Clyde Carpenter, the team compiled a – record and won the RMC championship.[1][failed verification]

Key players included quarterback Gene Bourdet, halfbacks Harry Perrigo, Bill Nelson, Gene Miles, and James O'Lauglin, fullbacks Mark Hampton and Neil Brooks, end George Rumberger, guards Billy Odneal and Ben Auck, tackles Len Larson and Alfred Croonquist, and centers Charles Masten and Earl Nadeau.
