Champions | Martina Navratilova Iván Molina |
Runners-up | Rosie Reyes Darmon Marcello Lara |
Final score | 6–3, 6–3 |
Françoise Dürr and Jean-Claude Barclay were the defending champions, but Dürr did not compete this year. Barclay teamed up with Julie Heldman and lost in quarterfinals to Rosie Reyes Darmon and Marcello Lara.
Martina Navratilova and Iván Molina won the title by defeating Rosie Reyes Darmon and Marcello Lara 6–3, 6–3 in the final.[1][2] While this would be Molina's only Grand Slam title of any kind, this was Navratilova's first Grand Slam title in mixed doubles, and her first Grand Slam title overall, as she would go on to win another 58 Grand Slam titles over the next 32 years, including another nine mixed doubles titles.

In Colombia, there are two moments of glory in the history of world tennis. One, in 1974, during the Grand Prix era, when Iván Molina crowned champion of the Mixed Doubles tournament in Roland Garros. His partner was someone who, at that time, threatened with being one of the tennis legends of all-time: Martina Navratilova. They defeated Rosie Reyes Darmon and Marcelo Lara in the final, the score 6–3, 6–3.
