The 1986 Troy State Trojans football team represented Troy State University during the 1986 NCAA Division II football season. The Trojans played their home games at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Troy, Alabama. The 1986 team was led by coach Rick Rhoades. The team finished the season with a 10–2 record and made it to the NCAA Division II Playoff Semifinals. The Trojans defeated Virginia Union 31-7 in the Quarterfinals before falling to South Dakota 28-42 in the Semifinals.[1]
