- January 1 – Republic Act No. 11467, which increases the excise tax on alcohol products, electronic cigarettes, and heated tobacco products, takes effect.[2]
- January 6 – President Rodrigo Duterte signs Republic Act No. 11642, that seeks to simplify the process of adoption, as thousands of children remained under government care while awaiting permanent homes.[3][4]
- January 7:
- Monsignors Lope Robredillo, Eutiquio "Euly" Belizar Jr., and Romeo Solidon, three priests of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Borongan in Eastern Samar, are appointed by Pope Francis as the "Chaplains to His Holiness".[5][6][7][8][9]
- Juanito Itaas, the country's longest held political prisoner, is released from a 32-year prison for his involvement in the 1989 killing of United States Army Col. James Rowe.[10][11][12]
- January 11 – President Rodrigo Duterte signs Republic Act No. 11643, which grants survivorship benefits to the legitimate spouse and dependent children of deceased retired members of the National Prosecution Service.[13][14]

- The National Bureau of Investigation files murder complaints against 17 cops over the killing of two of nine activists killed during the "Bloody Sunday" operations in March 7, 2021.[15][16][17]
- India–Philippines relations: Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana announces that the Philippines has bought a $370-million shore-based anti-ship missile project from India.[18][19] On January 28, the two countries signs the contract for the acquisition of the BrahMos missile system.[20][21]
- President Rodrigo Duterte signs Republic Act Nos. 11644 and 11645, declaring the city of Carcar in Cebu and the town of San Vicente in Ilocos Sur as heritage zones.[22]
- January 18 – Five persons who were involved in the reported fraudulent schemes targeting BDO Unibank Inc., in December 2021, were arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation in an entrapment operation in Mabalacat, Pampanga.[23][24][25][26] On January 26, DOJ indicts four individuals following its investigation of the fraud that hit the said bank.[27]
- January 20 – The Department of Justice indicts nine police officers over the killings of former Calbayog City Mayor Ronaldo Aquino, and his companions in March 8, 2021.[28][29]

- February 4 – The International Astronomical Union names "7431 Jettaguilar", in honor of Dr. Jose Francisco "Jett" Aguilar, a Filipino medical doctor and amateur astronomer.[32]
- February 5 – The US Federal Bureau of Investigation published religious leader Apollo Quiboloy as one of the most wanted list for sex trafficking.[33][34][35]
- February 7 – The Philippines begins the vaccination of children ages 5 to 11 against COVID-19 in Metro Manila after a few days of delay due to logistical challenges.[36][37]
- February 12 – At least 9 people were killed after they were ambushed at Kalumamis Village in Guindulungan, Maguindanao.[38][39]
- February 18 – Natividad Castro, a doctor, who is an advocate of Lumad communities in Mindanao, was arrested by members of PNP in was arrested in San Juan City.[40][41]
- February 21 �� One police personnel died while two others were confirmed injured when a helicopter of the PNP crashed in Real, Quezon.[42][43]
- February 22 – Philippines–Poland relations: The Philippines signs a contract for the purchase of 32 Black Hawk helicopters from Poland worth US$624 million or more than ₱32 billion.[44]
- February 23 – The Philippine government through the Anti-Terrorism Council formally declares 16 organizations which was supposedly functioning as underground organizations of the communist groups as terrorists in its resolution dated January 26.[45][46]

- The Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs approves a resolution to suspend the operations of online cockfighting operators amid a series of disappearances linked to "e-sabong".[47]
- The Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 11, rejects the bid of 10 fraternity members implicated in the September 2017 death of University of Santo Tomas law student Horacio "Atio" Castillo III to junk the hazing case against them supposedly due to insufficiency of evidence.[48]

- President Rodrigo Duterte signs Executive Order No. 164, approving the inclusion of nuclear power in the country's energy mix.[49][50]

- President Rodrigo Duterte approves some ₱3 billion in subsidies and discount for drivers, farmers, and fisherfolk amid the surge in oil prices and Russia's continuing invasion of Ukraine.[53]
- President Rodrigo Duterte signs Republic Act No. 11647, that effectively eases several restrictions on foreign investment.[54][55]
- March 4 — President Rodrigo Duterte signs Republic Act No. 11648, raising the age of sexual consent from 12 to 16.[56][57]
- March 7 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) orders the mandatory evacuation of all Filipinos in Ukraine amid worsening conflict between the Eastern European state and Russia.[58][59]

- The Supreme Court (SC) issues a temporary restraining order (TRO) on COMELEC's "Oplan Baklas" campaign to take down campaign posters that are either oversized or posted in restricted areas.[60]
- COMELEC suspendes the implementation of its voter information campaign deal with news site Rappler after the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) asked the Supreme Court to nullify it.[61]
- March 11 – President Rodrigo Duterte signs Republic Act No. 11650, that requiring schools nationwide to provide free basic education and related services to learners with disabilities.[62]
- March 15 – President Rodrigo Duterte approves a ₱200 monthly subsidy for poor Filipino families as an alternative to suspending fuel excise taxes amid skyrocketing oil prices.[63]
- March 17 – Dr. Raymundo Lo names a pink orchid hybrid after Vice President and presidential candidate Leni Robredo.[64]

- January 25 – The National Telecommunications Commission gives both the analog and digital broadcast frequencies which was previously held by ABS-CBN Corporation to Advanced Media Broadcasting System, Sonshine Media Network International and Aliw Broadcasting Corporation.[77][78]
