Visakhapatnam Administration started officially in the year in the year of 1803.[1] later Visakhapatnam Municipality was formed 1861 .[2] after years its converted as Municipal Corporation, present day its called as Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation. GVMC Total area is 681 km2 (263 sq mi) with 98 Ward's and 8 Zones.[3] GVMC Has ruled by a Mayor and Mayor is elected by corporaters Who are representative of their Wards.[4]

Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority is a metropolitan planning Development authority it totally covers Vizag metro area. VMRDA Formed in 2018.[5] its spreaded Visakhapatnam district and Vizianagaram district. [6] VMRDA Jurisdiction is 7,328 km2 (2,829 sq mi) 32 mandals in Visakhapatnam district and 16 mandals in Vizianagaram District.[7]

Visakhapatnam City Police Established in 1983 and it was headed by a Police commissioner and assisted by a joint police commissioner and two zones and 44 police Stations.[8] Visakhapatnam police system is one of the oldest in india ,recently Visakhapatnam Police system Completes 160 years.[9]

Visakhapatnam City have two Parliament seats Which are Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli.[10][11] and 8 Assembly constituency's those are Visakhapatnam East, Visakhapatnam South, Visakhapatnam North, Visakhapatnam West, Gajuwaka, Bheemili, Pendurthi and Anakapalle.[12]

Water and Sanitation Is Maintain by GVMC, all water bodies are under control in GVMC[13].gvmc supplies water to public from Raiwada Reservoir, Tatipudi Reservoir, Meghadri Gedda Reservoir, Kanithi Balancing Reservoir and Godavari Water pipeline [14]

electricity is regulated through Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited to the city.[15] the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department provides service.[16]
