Ahfir (Berber: ⴰⵃⴼⵉⵔ Aḥfir; Arabic: احفير Āḥfir m, Traduction : the Holes or the Trenches) is a town in Berkane Province, Oriental, Morocco, adjacent the border with Algeria. According to the 2004 census, it has a population of 19,482.[1] Ahfir means pit in Berber.
