The Alachua County Sheriff's Office is the chief law enforcement agency for unincorporated areas of Alachua County, Florida, United States.[citation needed]

In June 2007, it was reported that 10 employees in the Sheriff's office, including the jail's director, had either been fired or resigned while being investigated.[1]

The office has at least one Bearcat armored vehicle and two helicopters provided by the federal government under various programs.[2]
