Alan Bates (birth registered fourth ¼ 1944[2]) is a former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1960s and 1970s. He played at representative level for Great Britain, and at club level for Dewsbury, Oldham RLFC (Heritage № 803) and Huddersfield as a scrum-half, i.e. number 7.
