Ampangabe is a town and commune in Madagascar. It belongs to the district of Ambohidratrimo (district), which is a part of Analamanga Region. It is located 20 km by the route from Antananarivo at the RN 7 to Antsirabe. The population of the commune was estimated to be approximately 15,000.

The population consists of 90% Merina, 5 % Besileo, and 5% Antandroy.

Mainly rice is grown in the town.
