Andrew Ian Henry Russell, 15th Duke of Bedford (born 30 March 1962) is a British nobleman and peer. He is the son of Henry Robin Ian Russell, 14th Duke of Bedford, and his wife, Henrietta Tiarks.

Biography[]

Bedford was educated at Hall School, Hampstead and Heatherdown School, near Ascot in Berkshire, followed by Harrow School and Harvard, where he received his BA degree. He was known as Lord Howland until his grandfather's death in 2002, when he adopted the courtesy title Marquess of Tavistock, previously held by his father, Robin Russell, 14th Duke of Bedford. He succeeded to the Dukedom of Bedford the following year after his father suffered a fatal stroke. He also succeeded to the titles of 19th Earl of Bedford, 15th Marquess of Tavistock, 17th Baron Russell of Thornhaugh, and 15th Baron Howland of Streatham, all on 13 June 2003. Since then he has been styled His Grace The Duke of Bedford.

Bedford married on 16 October 2000 at St Margaret's Church, Westminster, London, Greater London, Middlesex, Louise Rona Crammond (born Marylebone, London, Middlesex, October / December 1962), daughter of Donald Ian Crammond (born Willesden, Middlesex, April / June 1936), married secondly in Horsham, West Sussex, in 1976 to Elizabeth A. Noble, and first wife (Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales, July / September 1961, div.) Rona Zara Clifford-Johns (born 22 November 1939), married secondly on 14 May 1974 to Sir Evelyn Delves Broughton, 12th Baronet, of Doddington Park (2 October 1915 - 5 January 1993), paternal granddaughter of Ian Rivinal Crammond (22 December 1911 - Hampstead, London, Greater London, Middlesex, April / June 1975), married secondly in Chelsea, London, Middlesex, April / June 1957 Jacqueline M. D. Carey and married thirdly in Westminster, London, Greater London, Middlesex, April / June 1973 Doreen Lovell, and first wife (Hampstead, London, Middlesex, January / March 1935) Ethel Samuels, and maternal granddaughter of Ernest Clifford-Johns (Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales, January / March 1907 - 27 April 2005) and wife (Bridgend, Glamorgan, Wales, July / September 1933) Eva Margaret Chappell (Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales, July / September 1906 - ?); Ernest Clifford-Johns was son of Ernest Morgan Johns (Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales, October / December 1872 - ?) and wife (Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales, January / March 1903) Rachel Winifred Matthews (Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales, October / December 1875 - ?) and Eva Margaret Chappell was daughter of Sydney Chappell (Bridgend, Glamorgan, Wales, April / June 1871 - ?) (son of Joseph Chappell (, Gloucester, Gloucestershire, 1829 - ?), beer retailer in Bridgend in 1881, and wife ...) and wife (Bridgend, Glamorgan, Wales, April / June 1899) Elizabeth Jane Davies. They have two children:
