Anthology 1: Greatest Hits 1986–1997 (simply known as Greatest Hits outside of Australia and New Zealand) is a greatest hits compilation album by Australian singer John Farnham.[1] The album was released in Australia on 29 September 1997, and is the first of a three disc Anthology set, it coincided with Farnham celebrating his 30th Anniversary in music.[1]
This album reached No. 1 in the ARIA charts in October, and yielded a No. 3 hit single with the Human Nature and John Farnham collaboration, "Every Time You Cry".[2]
In 1999, a VHS video cassette featuring the music film clips from this album was released with a limited pressing.[citation needed] This video was titled, Anthology 1 – The Videos.
In 2009, the CD was reissued on Sony's "Camden" budget label under the CD's original subtitle of Greatest Hits. This release does not credit Jimmy Barnes and Human Nature as featured artists for unknown reasons.
