Aparna Kishok Balamurali (born 26 August

 1995) is an Indian actress and playback singer who works predominantly in Malayalam and Tamil cinema. She is known for her roles in Maheshinte Prathikaaram (2016), Sunday Holiday (2017) and Soorarai Pottru (2020).

Personal life[]

Aparna comes from Thrissur in Kerala, India.[2] She was born to K. P. Balamurali and Sobha Balamurali.[3] Her father is a music director who has composed several musical albums, and her mother is a lawyer who has also worked as a playback singer in some Malayalam films. The singer-composer K. P. Udayabhanu is her paternal great-uncle. Aparna is trained in Indian classical music and classical dance styles such as Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Kuchipudi. She was studying architecture at the Global Institute of Architecture in Palakkad when she began her acting career.

Career[]

Aparna started her career at the age 18 who is working in Malayalam and Tamil film industry. Aparna made her acting debut in the Malayalam film Yathra Thudarunnu (2013) along with Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, directed by Jayan Sivapuram.[4] In 2015, her movie Oru Second Class Yathra was released. She rose to fame with her film named, Maheshinte Prathikaaram in 2016.[5] She also starred in comedy Oru Muthassi Gada (2016).[6] She made her Tamil debut in 8 Thottakkal (2017). She played in Sunday Holiday (2017) and Thrissivaperoor Kliptham (2017). In both films, she is paired opposite Asif Ali.[7] Besides this, she also pursued her career in Music and gave songs like Mounangal Mindumoree, Thennal Nilavinte and Thanthane. Her 2018 releases are Kamuki and B. Tech.[8][9] She has been roped in as the Tamil film's heroine in Sarvam Thaala Mayam (2019) starring G. V. Prakash Kumar.[10] Her subsequent films in Malayalam were Mr. & Ms. Rowdy (2019) and Jeem Boom Bhaa (2019) received with average reviews.[11][12] She presented a convincing performance as Bommi in Suriya starrer Soorarai Pottru (2020) has been getting a lot of accolades for her role.[13] The next Tamil movie was Theethum Nandrum (2021).[14]
