Arvind Venugopal (born 28 September 1991) is an Indian playback singer who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry. He started his singing career in the year 2011 with the song "Chirakingu Vanamingu" from the film The Train composed by popular singer/composer Srinivas.[1] He has worked with many critically acclaimed films, including Koode as an assistant director to acclaimed director Anjali Menon.

Personal life[]

Arvind Venugopal was born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He is the son of famous Malayalam singer, G. Venugopal[2] and Reshmi Venugopal. He is an alumnus of St. Thomas Central School (Trivandrum), Madras Christian College[3] (Chennai), Christ University (Bangalore). He also holds a degree in Film and Media from New York Film Academy. Popular singers Sujatha and Shweta Mohan are his aunt and cousin respectively.

Early career[]

Venugopal was never trained in classical music. He found his inclination to music during his time in Madras Christian College, where he took part in College Auditions and different events across Chennai.[4] He made his debut as a playback singer during those days in the movie The Train, with Mammooty in lead. He rose to fame with his appearance in Kappa TV's Music Mojo with his father, G. Venugopal.[5]
